Born during the Battle of Britain. Inherited aversion to bombs, guns, pistols and things that go bang in the night. Including fireworks. Were I a dog, I’d be paws over ears under the bed.
First book written age eight. Tragic tale of cowboy and horse. Unfortunately regarded by family as comedy, not tragedy.
Educated at nine different English, Canadian and French educational establishments. Accounts for never grasping fundamentals of mathematics. But awfully good at packing and unpacking boxes.
As copywriter, worked on everything from diamonds to detergents. Wrote original draft of Andrex puppy commercial, inspired by cat with a passion for pulling yards of loo roll through the flat.
Written plays for BBC Radio 4, historical novel, non-fiction book on equine communication, umpteen short books on small animal care, children’s stories, poems, lyrics, and edited and wrote for small farming magazine.
Followed various trainings in complementary medicine but never practised professionally. Experienced divorce and widowhood. Deeply grateful for the spiritual wisdom of A Course in Miracles. All aspects of healing for people and animals remain my greatest passion.
Live in France, near my wonderful family. Voila – c’est tout!
